Doors set to open at Blackpool super vet centre

The new Norcross Vets building is nearing completion.

Norcross Vets has been operating out of portable cabins on its Norcross Lane site , on land previously occupied by a farm and near to the site of the former DWP Norcross building.

But now the team of 25 including six vets will have a purpose built building in which to treat their animal customers.

It features five consulting rooms three operating rooms , extensive kennelling and a cattery.

But practice managing director Andrew Milne said it would also have state of the art digital x-ray equipment, ultrasound and endoscopy, plus provision to house a mobile MRI scanner which could visit up to twice a week.

The building will also have accommodation for staff a chemotherapy and radio-therapy area and a lecture theatre.

Mr Milne said: “For one reason or another it has taken quite a long time to get built, we actually started planning it more than seven years ago, so it will be exciting for us all to move into a building that has been purpose built for vets.

“Most other vets have to adapt their buildings, so this will obviously be better.
